1/72 B6N2 Tenzan
1/72 Fujimi B6N2. This was on the shelf of doom for quite some time. I had started this kit years ago but put it away since I was having a hard time getting the forward cowl/fuselage to fit the way I wanted. I took it out of the box and finally got it finished. Mostly OOB painted with Gunze paints. Hinomarus were painted and the rest of the markings came from a Pring Scale sheet depicting a aircraft from 3 Koku Sentai, Carrier Zuiho, Battle of the Phillipine Sea, June 18,1944. I did add clear wingtip and tail nav lights from clear sprue and some PE seat belts. Antenna was rigged with Uschi superfine thread. The kit fought me a little bit, it was not the kits fault, just one of those kits where things never went right. One step forward two steps back kind of thing. But in the end its always a good feeling when a kit comes off the shelf of doom.
Nice work on this. It may have fought, but you obviously won the battle.
Looks very good! I have this same kit in the stash. I like the paint-fade work you did on this. Well done.
Sharp work. Paint always beats decals. Congrats on winning the fight.
Great job rescuing this kit from the S-O-D. Fantastic finish on this and thanks for loading these fine pictures. Most enjoyable.
Doom no more. That said , looks amazing. Great work. I should shelve some of my mind stumping models too !
Very tidy build. It is always satifying to reserrect a model from the dust of the shelf of doom.
Beautiful result Geoffrey, great looking shading with the paint and the birdcage canopy!
And...I feel your pain, the front cowling does fit kinda weird and will need some work. I thought it was going to be a quick build, but it's been sitting for a few months now. The kit does have nice fine engravings though.
Always thought the B6N Jill was a good looking 1/72 plane and your model proves that it is.

Beautiful result, especially on the paintwork, Geoffrey.
Also the canopy's paintwork is very nicely done.
Excellent result, Geoffrey.
Yep, sometimes nothing seems to go right, but, upon completion, everything is good.
Beautiful work, it looks great!
