Suzuki Overload

August 27, 2021 · in Automotive · · 22 · 2.1K

I did something like this over 10 years ago. I figured I can do again, but better. If it is better, I don't know. but it is definitely better than the first one I did. The scale is HC22 Jimny JA11-5. The kit is by Hasegawa. The window shield was replaced with a protective glass, used for cellphones. I cracked it with sharp hobby knife. The rear and rear side windows were replaced with thin plywood bought at a hobby store. The roof rack was scratch built. Everything else is a collection of parts from my junk box, like cloth materials, plastic wraps, old rubber pieces etc.

  1. Looks great, Charles! Looks like my wife going for an overnighter!

  2. You never stop to amaze us, my friend Charles: this is truly superb modeling!
And yes: this Samurai is positively overloaded... 🙂

  3. that is a riot! I don't see how that scooter on the back is staying up there - looks like first pothole and the whole shebang comes tumbling down. I think the case of Bud on the seat is a clue to the packing...(any consumed while building?)

  4. When I worked in Mauritania years ago there were quite a few vehicles loaded like this coming and going out of the dust haze on the desert roads. Very well done.

  5. This is awesome, a Slamurai

  6. Hopefully, the route to wherever they're going doesn't involve any turns.

I really did Laugh Out Loud when I saw this.

  7. Only you could pull this off Charles! I love it!

  8. This is awesome, Charles @tiking
It is a funny presentation of a beautiful build.
    Really like it.

  9. Even with out the load those Suzuki Jimny can tip over with out the least provocation. High center of gravity and short wheel base . . .

Charles your onto something, for your next project try doing one of your big rigs . Youtube has posted dozens of trucks many in the far east, over loaded with bricks, cement bags, cut tree limbs, any thing a truck can carry and be carried beyond belief. Or reason.

Some trucks have a four tandem wheels mounted up front for steering and some folks loose a front wheel like the lead wheel for steering. No problem they keep on trucking.

Some strong work and the ability to think out side of the box Charles.

I hit the like box. Two thumbs up.

    • Thanks buddy. The truck has been on my mind a long time now. Several years back actually. Seen many photos of this and have thought about doing something similar. Just have to decide if it would better in 1/35, Ho, or 1/24 scale...

  10. A typical day trip to the beach. Looks great!
