It's time for Soviet mechas
It's my first post here on this wonderful forum. Hello everyone!
I am Jared. Non-standard, sci-fi/what-if designs that look believable, intrigue me. Eventually, friends convinced me to turn a mech design into a usable model kit, instead of keeping just one original model for myself. Months and months later, here it is, a technical rescue machine 5DR code-named "Rescue Labor".
It's a unit coming from an alternative Soviet universe, which I hope will grow. 1/35 scale, that is 20cm height. As many as 330 resin parts were cast in my workshop. There are also 95 metal parts, decals, plus a large assembly manual developed in a 3D app.
So it's not a 3D print, parts of the model have no artifacts or a need for sanding. And a miniature of a mechanic is an integral part of the works.
Hope you like it. I am glad to be part of this forum and will answer questions regarding such productions if there are any.
I attached basic pictures of the works here. You can find more on my blog as well detailed 3rd-party reviews elsewhere, especially on the GalaxyKits sci-fi site which displays every element of the model (search for "rescue labor").
Cheers,
/Jared/
A really great concept and s a perfect execution, Jared!
Kudos to your skills, producing this great model from scratch!
Thanks Spiros! I'd like to mention that the original digital design comes from artist Stanislav Gorshenin, and I painted and weathered the model only lightly to demonstrate its raw geometry. The kit proposes two "official" marking and painting schemes. There's plenty of space where chrome finishing and such can be added 😉
Amazing Jared.
What a creation! And I still wonder how injection moulded kits are made !
This is specialty work to the max.
Welcome to this supportive site for all modelers.
Keep them coming !
Thank you, Bernard! Support that modelers receive here is great, as is the atmosphere 🙂
Wow, what a fantastic build, Jared @jared
You definitely made an awesome entrance to this community, welcome.
Each and every piece is nicely detailed.
Paintwork on the figure is awesome as well.
Thanks John, forgot another bit. The miniature is painted by a top tier painter, Michal from miniaturenightpainting.com 🙂
This needs to be titled under a forum called 'Shut up and take my money'
So OK, only today the price just covers my costs. Only here on iModeler for 24 hours, I give away a "FS-IMODELER" free-shipping coupon in addition to this month's discount. It's not a detail, for example a tracked FEDEX parcel costs $38 to the USA.
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Welcome to this forum, hope you have a good time here.
Jared ... you have just made a very much impressing first post.
Very original and so well done and painted as well as weathered.
Thanks DE4EVER, it means a lot to me 🙂
Wow, some seriously original creativity on display here. I am Highly Impressed.
extra nice, i would like to see original WIP.
The WIP is on https://www.facebook.com/TheKombinat and quite recently I created https://thekombinat.com/blog where a copy of the story gets slowly copied. WIP of a new kit (MILVUS) goes there too.
wow this is so incredible - well done for the scratch build and such a cool idea.
Thanks Anthony!
