1/48 Eduard Bf-109 G-2 with oils
In the never ending quest for a simple yet fabulous weathering technique I tried some oils on this Eduard kit. It is the winter camo scheme of a Bf-109 G-2 stationed in Finland in 1943 and now my only regret is that I should have used a cold shade of grey along the panel lines, not this sepia that warms it up. Next time I`ll nail it.

That looks great! I've used a combination of pastels and oils for years, and yours is as good as any I've seen!

Amazingly good result on that winter camo with the base darker camo showing through. Love it! And I love the panel lines; it looks like dirt collecting on the sheet aluminum joints.

Really fine result on the winter overspray effect. I think the sepia shade used with the oil wash is perfect.

I think you "nailed it" this time, George. If you ever do it again, please do a WIP so the rest of us can learn from the master.
Gotta agree with the above, the sepia makes it look used hard and dirty. I don't think it would look near as good if greys were used for what that's worth. In any event this looks awesome
