1/48 Fine Molds Ki-15 Babs
I have developed a real appreciation of 1930s aircraft. Big open cowls and wheel pants. I don't know, they just look co cool. Finemolds has one version of their Babs as a civilian record setter known as 'Kamikaze' - which at the time of its naming, meant something far different than it would mean in the 1940s.
This build has a great cockpit but I caution you - most, if not all of it will be pretty much invisible once the fuselage is closed and the canopy is on. Oh well, I know its there! The engine is very nicely done and any extra effort will be worth it because it is very visible on the finished model.
For painting I airbrushed Tamiya AS-12 spray lacquer for the main colour and Vallejo Model Air “Deep Sky” for the blue parts. The wave was masked using the diagrams in the instructions as a guide. I created a custom paper template to figure out the contour of the wave so I could replicate it on both sides of the model. Lastly, the kit decals were excellent.

Superb finish , absolutely flawless. Well done.
Well done Chris, as you stated there's some really cool A/C flying during the 30's. The Golden Age of Aviation for sure.
It all works. The painting and assembling of the kit are all first rate. You've brought out the best in this kit, Chris. Some strong work. My only niggle is that I can't see it in person.
Two thumbs up.
Very nice work on everything done on this build. Beautiful build!
Great looking "Babs"

Wow, amazing finish to this great looking World Record Holder of its time.
The Fine Molds kit looks fantastic and you've done a equally marvelous job with this model. It is a shame you have limited view of the interior.
Nice to see the under-wing photo on your link.
