VW Typ 87 from CMK

October 6, 2022 · in Armor · · 9 · 1.3K

Good morning everyone and greetings to the forum members.
This time I wanted to show you a quick (and small) project that I used to practice some painting and wethering techniques.
The kit, in scale, is from . It doesn't come with a large number of parts and the fit of the parts is correct. The kit can be improved, especially the interior, with scratchbuilding. The instructions are sometimes unclear, so it is advisable to look for photos and information about the vehicle before assembly.
The paint is made with Vallejo acrylics. The wethering is made with washes from AK, pigments from Vallejo and Casttle Art, graphite and splashes from Vallejo.
I hope you like it and any criticism and advice is always welcome.
Greetings to all!

  3. A beautiful Beetle with great camouflage, Juan @juanravi73

  4. Looks awesome, Juan (@juanravi73). It is cool to see a Beetle in camo.

  5. Very nice work and a good result. The grandfather of the Beetle I had 50 years ago.

  6. I still struggle with the origins of the so-called “people’s car” and why so many think it’s cool. The only version I really liked was Steve McQueen’s Beach Buggy. That’s not to say you haven’t done a great job on this one, the camouflage is excellent, nicely finished off by your weathering techniques.

  7. Great mud slinging beetle

  8. I really like the scheme you picked for this build. I add so much interest to the appearance. I really like the results.
