Eduard Bf109 E-7 Trop.

Hello again.

Before you my last project. I used the photoetched frets and the decals from the Profipack edition of the kit, changed the weapon cannons for the metal ones from Master and the Gunsight for a resin piece form Quickboost. I had to cut a section on the rear part of the sand filter to make it look closer to the actual one's size and I have to live with that filter the way it is on this kit. I also added the break's pipeline on the landing gears using resin connectors from Reskit and copper wire. Colors from the defunct Model Master line. I made the mistake of waiting to the end to install the underwing radiators' divisors, but these were photoeched pieces and one flew away while trying to glue it on its place, these should had been installed since I glued those subassaemblies, best luck next time.

I hope you enjoy it.

  1. Very nice work. Excellent paint. I like the result here a lot. A real success.

I recently had one of these kits open and was doing some measurement when I realized that Eduard's Bf-109E has all the "dimensional inaccuracies" that caused the internet to melt down in 2013 when they released their Bf-109G and it wasn't "right." But no one has ever said a word anywhere against this kit, which has all the same "problems", but only gets positive reviews. (While the Airfix 109E, which is dimensionally "right on the numbers" is castigated for being "clunky")

Another reason to avoid Hyperflailers like the plague on modeling they are.

    • Hello, my apologies for the delay but I´ve been busy. I remember the issue with that first kit and Eduard reworked the tools or did a new one, I´m not sure right now. But I just wanted to build this one in order to paint this scheme.

  2. That is a beautiful build Ruben, @rubentorres. I really love the scheme and the build. It looks great your paint work is really nice, and love the overall look of your paint and weathering.

I don't know about the inaccuracies that Tom mentioned, but no one will ever mistake it for anything other than a beautiful Bf-109. I like to build my models to look accurate but I do don't have time for rivet counters. Like Tom I don't have time for all that, no kit is perfect, build what you like, and you built a BEAUTY!

  3. Superb job, Ruben!

  4. A great achievement on this Emil, Ruben @rubentorres
One of the nicest camouflage schemes out there to my opinion.
May I ask you how you created those green dots.

    • Thank you for your question. Actually I went the difficult road, first the sand coat, then with a pencil I drafted each green patch, then a clear acrylic coat, then the green patches freehand and then some cleaning with a filbert brush and white spirits around each patch to reduce the overspray. I´m not sure I would do it that way again!

  5. Outstanding paint job and weathering, Ruben...well done!

  6. Great work Ruben. Looks fantastic 😊

  7. A real beauty - I like this scheme and will do one like this in 1/72! Well done.

  8. Beautiful work Ruben @rubentorres! 🍻

  9. Inaccurate or not, it's a beauty. A keeper!

  10. Yet another 109, but your paintwork is beautiful.

  11. 109s have a miriad of schemes, some of them rather difficult to replicate exactly. Thank you for your comment. Funny avatar by the way!
