Trumpeter, 1/72, F-105D Thunderchief
Hi everyone,
Another one of the mythological "century series",
An excellent model by Trumpeter in 1/72 - F-105D Thunderchief
A detailed kit at a reasonable level, quite accurate and without any construction problems.
Highly recommended!
Great looking Thud, Allon! Camouflage, panel lines and weathering look fantastic. Open gun bay, chipping, and extended refueling all make for an interesting walk-around; looks larger than 1/72. Well done!
Thank you for your kind comment, Joe! @jroamer
Definitely looks larger than 1/72. Awesome job!
The 105 is a big beast in real life. I helped clean one as a volunteer at McClellan AFB museum back in the 80’s.
I think it considers the biggest single seated fighter. @angus64
Thank you, Alfred! @alfred
Really nice paint work Allon. Looks great!
Thanks, man! @popeofchillitown
Superb. Paint job is lovely. How did you achieve the highlighting at the center of various panels? (Most visible over the brown paint). Airbrush or oils?
Thank you, Powell! I achieved this effect with oils on flat varnish. @bapowellphys
Impressive result, Allon @allonkira67
Especially considering this scale, it looks much bigger like that.
Painting and weathering is superb.
Thank you for your words, john!
@johnb
Another awesome job, Allon! The result is an awesome looking Thud, definitely looking bigger than 1/72.
Congratulations!
Thanks, Spiros! Happy you liked it 🙂 @fiveten
Great build, realistic paint and wear in just the right places. I'm not much of a jet guy, but this beast looks impressive!
That's an outstanding build, Allon. Simply beautiful in all aspects. @allonkira67
What a gorgeous beast you've created! I think your rendition of SEA camo compares well with period photos of the 1:1 aircraft. Armament, decals, paint, all reflect well on your craftsmanship.
Absolutely superb SEA scheme and weathering, Allon(@allonkira67). The Thuds do not get the credit they deserved as a workhorse of the conflict. Your model is a fitting tribute. Thank you for sharing it.
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
A very respectable and dignified model of the much-loved F-105D Thunderchief, Allon.
The SEA scheme is brilliantly applied and the slight contrast in colors are well achieved.
Nice work on the weathering, good modeling.
Nicely done. This is why I love jets with camo paint schemes, the THUD! It just looks cool. Beautiful build all around Allon. Jets aren't usually my thing but I really have to pick up one of these.
Beautiful Thud!

Impressive Thud, Allon (@allonkira67). The paint finish, the panel accents, the weathering.
Equally impressive photos, looks amazing from every angle.
Like everyone before me said - beautiful paint and weathering and a lovely model!
Nicely done Allon.
