Tamiya F35B
I have just noticed that Tamiya have released their version of the LM F35B. This is definitely going on my wish list along with their F35A offering.

I have seen a build of it on the net, and love the option of extended gear for hover like in the photo you provided. I was going to get the Italeri "B", but after seeing the options in the Tamiya "B", I think I want it in hover! However, I would also like the Italeri kit to have the plane in a conventional "at rest" presentation! I can't wait to see what Tamiya does with the "c"!
Yeah that would be interesting wouldn't it Dan @danfrombermuda)? Imagine the diorama possibilities on that one π
That's a nice looking F35A you built there Scott. I'm not a jet guy, ok modern jet guy, but that looks cool. Great job.
Ha - I wished I had built this one Clint @curtisshawk.
No this is just a sharing of Tamiya's new release of the Lightning II F35B. Something I will definitely be buying in the near future π
Cool. I'm not up on all the differences between the F35 mods. It looks like it'll be a great kit. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
In short there is F35A, F35B and F35C.
A is the standard take-off and landing from a runway strip version.
B is the vertical take-off and landing version
C is the arrester hook version, so it can land on an aircraft carrier (not sure why you wouldn't use the B version instead - guessing it'[s all about the $$$$$).
@scottiya, The C model also has larger wings, which can fold, and provide some other efficiency benefits for carrier ops as well. Also, the C model landing gear is different/strengthened (again for carrier ops).
Let's hope Santa will notice it on your list, Scott @scottiya
Would be nice Christmas gift.
Not sure if I'm on the naughty list John @johnb π π
Tamiya have also re-released their Fiat 500 in 1/24 scale, I hope itβs waiting under the Christmas tree for me.
Fingers crossed hey George @chinesegeorge π
Thatβs a sharp looking model. I figure Iβll do the Tamiya βAβ model once Alabama ANG decals become available.
Sounds like a plan John @j-healy π
