IJN Battleship Nagato 長門 in 1927, Aoshima 1/700

Hello everyone. Today I'm posting about the battleship of the Imperial Japanese Navy as it was in . It's been a while since I've worked on an kit. At this time, Nagato had an elegant form without the imposing appearance it became later. In particular, the shape of the bow and the curved funnels are quite different from its later appearance. This time, I tried using wooden deck stickers for the first time. While it was convenient, the thickness was somewhat bothersome. I tried to make it as close to the actual ship as possible, referencing photographs from that period.

  17. Sorry for my slow reply. I would like to thank you all for such heartwarming comments. Some of you may know IJN named their battleships after old prefectural names of Japan, such as Yamashiro for Kyoto. Nagato was the old name of the area where I was born and so it involves a kind of special meaning to me. Thus I tried to make her as handsome as possible…
