1/48 Eduard Polikarpov I-16
Here is Eduard's 1/48 Polikarpov I-16 Type 24, popularly associated with Boris Safonov. I added some rivets using a rivet tool and rocket rails under the wings. I also added Moskit exhausts. More photos are available at my website http://www.lylesmodels.com. Thanks for looking, happy modeling!
Sharp build, Scott
Thanks Gary!
Love it
Thanks George!
Really nice finish— I like the subtle variations in the green paint. Eduard’s I-16 is a really fun kit to build.
Thanks Toby, it is a fun kit. Nice and small!
Really beautiful result, Scott!
Thanks Spiros!
WOW beautiful. Paint job really pops. The marbling technique has revitalized aircraft modeling
Thanks Bill!
An excellent result, Scott @slyle
Very nice paintwork.
Thanks John. I'm getting good results with the AK real colors.
Great scale modeling here! 🤩 Excellent result, Scott @slyle! 👏
Thanks Gary!
I just received an I-16 type 10 and I’m trying to figure out what colors to use. What brand paint and colors did you use on your model?
Hi Mike, I used AK Real Colors paints. For the under sides I used their AMT-7 Light Blue, and for the upper sides I used their AMT-4 Green, but varied it a little by mixing in some white or black. These different shades were applied randomly to vary the green color of the upper sides. I think the Type 10 was used in the Spanish Civil War and there were some pretty colorful schemes!
