Hanomag Skdfz 251/1
Hanomag Skdfz 251/1 halftrack. I did this one because I loved the first one I built and wanted to do another color. This is the later Dunkelgelb (Dark Yellow). This vehicle was on the Russian Front 1943.

You did a great job on this one John. It cries out for a diorama. Well done!
Thanks, I am hoping to increase my skills and do a few dioramas soon. I have many ideas.
The weathered finish on this first class, very convincing.
Thanks George. I always learn from my mistakes. Modeling is like life, you learn more from mistakes than from success. At first I overdid the weathering. I was so excited with the effects that I was making that I got carried away. I was very glad that I used an acrylic floor varnish to seal the base coat. I used paint thinner to take this back down to the base coat, and started the weathering over again. I try to make my models look like the real thing. I often spend hours researching a specific plane or vehicle so I can do a more realistic job.
Again...some nice modeling. Keep on posting, John.
Oh, I have quite a few and do not want to monopolize this forum. I will take my time and put up a few at a time.
Looks very good. I'm not an armor modeler, but the finish is very convincing.
You know Greg, I was only into planes until I did my first Armor build. Now I do about 75% armor and 25% planes. It is a bit different with the finishing and weathering on Armor being more time consuming, but I do not miss masking canopies. LOL
I'm really impressed by the finish and weathering. No more words, let me enjoy it.
thank you for the kind compliment.
π ... Greetings ... π :
Very nice work, I like the weathering and the finish in this one, I really hate to sound redundant, again I ask with all due respect ... we will see this one on a Russian front diorama ... RIGHT ?
LOL, I had better get moving on that. π
a really fine job...great colors
Nice build, fine weathering. π
Thanks π
