November 13, 2012 · in Aviation · · 4 · 5.6K

This is my 2nd 'Mig.

Just from the box.

I added some wire wheel wells, roof seals and wires inside the cockpit.

I used acrylics and Gunze with added some "Future".

I hope you like it!

regards,

Davide

  1. Wow that's some mean looking Mig - is that a winter camouflage?

  2. I'm glad you like it!
This is the brief history of this plane:

MiG-21MF, Slovak Air Force, 4 Flight, Airbase Sliac, Slovakia, ca.1999

This camouflage scheme was applied by the staff of the 31st AFB aircraft
    n. Serial 967713.
It 'been dubbed "Milka" because of the similarity with the mimicry of a cow ...
The aircraft flew in August 2000. It's was demolished in 2010 at Přelouč.
The tone of this scheme were obtained by mixing the colors black and white not according to military standards (experimental! like some aggressors).
On the left side of the muzzle is designed the emblem of the 4th Squadron, on the right side of the "marking" of the 31st Air Base Sliac.
The aircraft was flown by Lt. Col. Zsoldos, crew chief was the Capit. Krucina.

  3. Love the paint scheme and NMF finish on the tail[cone] area(s) - you really nailed those colors...nice work.

  4. very very nice- makes me want to finish my two Mig-21's off- I just have too many kits on the go!
