December 20, 2015 · in Aviation · · 17 · 1.7K

Airfix's old but quite nice offering of the Fouga CM.170 . Painted with Tamiya acrylics and finished as an example from the Bangladeshi Air Force.

  1. Beautiful work, Michelle...it would seem you're partial to Airfix - and to 72nd scale - (too small for ME...unless they're BIG 72nd scales) πŸ™

  2. I've always liked these little jets. They sound so peculiar! There used to be about five or six that would fly into EAA every year including a black one with thin rainbow stripes (similar to a Christen Eagle) that would make a colorful subject. Unfortunately they had a rough landing one year and I haven't seen it (or many others) since! The mass balances on the tail must be teensie! Thanks for more photos this time around!

    • I have a few Magisters to build so who knows what the next one will be πŸ˜‰
I posted no more photos than I did for my last two builds, I normally only take four or five of my finished builds.

    • They're so noisy, Josh, that the three that are out at Chino can't fly any more. Amazing when you look at the size of their engines.

This is a really nice model - that little kit has aged well.

  3. Sweet. Display some more when you get the chance.

  4. Michelle, Max decals? Great markings choice!

  5. πŸ™‚ ... Greetings ... πŸ™‚ :
Nice looking Magister, interesting color scheme. Very clean and sharp work.

  6. What a sweet little bird πŸ™‚ ! The Magister has always been a favourite of mine but I have yet to build one!

  7. I like it! I just finished an Airfix Magister recently (http://imodeler.com/2015/11/172-fouga-cm-170-magister/) and never ran across this scheme when I was doing research for it. I did like the IsraDecal set I got for mine - had a variety of versions available so I recommend for one of your next Magisters.

I had never paid much attention to the Magister until I saw the decal set, even though I had one in the stash. Once I built it, I fell in love it it's simple clean lines and unique look.
