1/48 Tamiya P-47 D30 "TuAF Thunderbolt"

February 1, 2013 · in Aviation · · 12 · 3.6K

Here is my recently (and freshly) finished model. This is D30 with the markings of Turkish Air Force (TuAF). The base kit is Tamiya's P-47 M .

It is built OOB except for seat belts, instrument panel and Ultracast wheels.

Happy modelling

  1. Very well done! That's a sharp looking bird.

  2. One of my favorite aircraft and a job well done as usual, Tolga. But listen...stop puttin' red squares on everything you build. Thunderbolts and Super Sabres and such just don't LOOK RIGHT, know what I mean, dude? It's like that P-51 "Jelly Belly" air racer. That borders upon blasphemy, IMO. Just raggin' on ya, Tolga...you finish 'em however you see fit. Certainly can learn a lot from just lookin' at your work. Always nice work. You aren't by any chance Turkish, are ya? :>)

  3. Nothing short of fantastic, Tolga. Bravo.
I can't make up my mind, which one of your models I like the best.

  4. Another stunning model, Tolga. Not much more to say.

  5. I too cannot make up my mind which of your models I like best. Each time you put one up, I say "that's the one!"

That Tamiya P-47M kit is great - you can do everything from a P-47D-25 to a P-47D-40, and then a P-47M too.

  6. Uh! Probably Ozkan is right. I can compete with our local importer about P-47 stock level.
Is this love? Or as it s described on medical science it s a kind of deep obsession.Your choice 🙂

  7. A very nice Jug! One of the features which are most interesting for me is the peculiar pattern of mg's alignment lines on the wings – here it looks like a double set was used. A very nice photography too.
