Honda REPSOL RC213V ’14, Tamiya, 1/12
I haven't posted a motorcycle for quite a while so here's Tamiya's latest 1/12 kit of the 2014 Moto GP championship winning Honda ridden by Spaniard Marc Marquez. This is the first Moto GP bike issued by Tamiya for a few years, and, apart from a few problems with some of the decals it went together without any problems. The only modifications I made were to drill out the ventilation holes in the rear brake disc, give the tyres a good scrubbing-in (mainly to remove the centre moulding seam), and attempting to give the effect of heat staining on the exhaust (all covered up now by the fairings).
Always such a beautiful job on those bikes you build, George.
George, another great build sir.
Good to see you are still building mate.
Lovely George - looks great
Exceptional work once again. You really know how to do motorcycles!
Great looking bike! Love the way you get the reflection off the countertop in your photos - really looks sharp.
A real beauty, as Greg said great affect with the counter top.
Thanks for your kind comments, guys, always appreciated. To be honest, I was more pleased with the way the photographs came out than I was with the model... back to that Phantom now.
Very nice, George, especially photo No.4 with the background image.
Spring sunshine? It's been snowing in Newcastle the past couple of days, like proper snowing as well!
Another quality build and great photography to match! I'll be adding this kit to the stash at some point!
Have you seen Honda's road legal version of this bike? I saw the prototype a couple of years ago at the Birmingham NEC but the Honda guys would not comment on the specs at all. Turns out it's pretty much a GP bike with mirrors and indicators. But with an enormous price tag!
Yes lovely model George, what is the gold on the forks ?
Hi Allan, something prompted me to look at this posting again and I saw your comment, sorry about the delay replying! The gold finish is part of Tamiya's detail up set for this bike, the replacement forks are metal of some kind and come in this colour, an easy way out of this problem and highly recommended.
Brilliant work George, one of my favourites, looks so realistic.
