Hello, I am a former police officer from the Czech Republic. After 31 years I returned to building aircraft from the great war. My lifelong interest is history and WW1 pilots. I build 1:48 and occasionally 1:32 models. It's a big inspiration for me when I literally see works of art from other colleagues here.

Phönix D. IIa, Special Hobby, 1:48, Fw. Karl Teichmann, Flik 17J, 5 victories

When I recently put the D.I version, it is necessary to add the D.II version from the same manufacturer. Made the same modifications as D.I, plus added aileron balancing that was omitted from the kit. The D.II version had, unlike the D.I, [...]

Phönix D. I, Special Hobby, 1:48, Stfw. Karel Urban, Flik 14J, 5 victories

This model from Special Hobby is quite good without major tricks. It was necessary to shorten the main intermediate wing struts a little. Further equip the cockpit. I also made a slight modification of the engine and completed the cooling [...]

Albatros D.XI, Karaya, 1:48, test pilot Lt. Heinrich Henkel, Jasta 37, 8 victories

I wanted to build a one off model of a lesser known aircraft type without strings, but how wrong I was. The hull was built excellently, everything fit and I only added a few details. But then I found out that five of the eleven cylinders [...]

Pfalz D.III, Eduard, 1:48, Vfw. Hecht, Jasta 10,

This is Eduard's first Pfalz release and one of my early models, when I didn't use tensioners and made the strings from threads pulled from women's stockings. Vizefeldwebel Hecht's aircraft of Jasta 10, was forced to land behind British [...]

Albatros D. III, 253.09 Oeffag, 1:48, Eduard, Hpt. Miroslav (Friedrich) Navratil, Flik 3J, 10 victories

A very nice model to build. I only removed the engine cover as they flew in the hot summer months. I retrofitted the engine with a few details. Next, I removed the surface detail on the fuselage and the bottom of the wings and put in new [...]

Aviatik-Berg D.I (Loh. 115), Flashback, 1:48, Oblt. Frank Linke-Crawford, 27 victories, Flik 60J

Aviatik-Berg D.I (Loh. 115), Flashback, 1-48, Oblt. Frank Linke-Crawford, 27 victories, Flik 60J Quite a demanding construction. Used Gaspatch turnbuckles and finished some small details. Unfortunately, I installed the dashboard [...]

Fokker E. V, Eduard, 1:48, pilot Gefr. Kurt Blümener, Jasta 6,

The first model this year was a very pleasant relaxing build to be of greater problems. I can only recommend it for lovers of the great war planes who don't like strings. Although the Fokker E.V, better known as the D.VIII, still remains [...]

Hannover CL III, 1:48 Eduard, pilot Rudolf Hager, observer Otto Weber, Schlasta 20

I hesitated for a while whether to display this model. After my return to modeling a year and a half ago, I decided on the planes of the great war, which attracted me since childhood. Above all, I wanted to test myself if I could master [...]

Fokker D VII, (Alb. late), Eduard, 1:48, Ltn Josef Raesch. Jasta 43, 7 victories

So, before the end of the year, I will have time to add one more model. Another addition to the Fokker collection. Again, a very pleasant build, without any major tricks. Leutnant Josef Raesch was a World War I flying ace with seven aerial [...]

Albatros D. III, Eduard, 1:48, pilot Lt. Ernst Hess, Jasta 28w, 17 victories.

I recently saw here a beautifully built Albatros D.III by Paul van Acker. I liked it so much that I built it in the same coloring. Very nice build, I just sanded the whole hull and carved new panels and added new engine covers. Lines are [...]
