@gblair Thanks George, so much more to add….will take weeks to finish this engine alone

@chinesegeorge. Thanks George, I was initially disappointed with this kit for the price, and I accidentally fell upon the hardware, decals etc etc while searching for a display case for it at a whopping $400…no thanks. The guy I bought all the stuff from Paul Koo, has been most helpful. He has copious quantities of detailed phots of his add ons! So it makes up for the kit.

But if you think about it a Tamiya kit is pretty plain until i add the Top Studio and or Hobby Design PE and resin parts. The difference here is I will make most of my own parts and wiring

Those carburators do look really impressive, Cricket @bikequeen
Glad you added those plates, they do make it look much more realistic this way.
    Great progress.

WELL! After a week from hell and another “to close for comfort” near miss from bad weather Saturday. I got back to work on the Ducati engine.

This engine would be nothing without Paul Koo’s aftermarket hardware and detailed additional add on suggestions and wiring.

I had done foil tape to simulator hose clamps then. Found a guy in Germany that sold them, so I bought them, got them in 10 days! So here they are

. And enjoy them now because they will never be seen again 🙂

I also added wiring to the throttle bodies

And finally the engine assembly with some of the additional wiring not included in the kit.

Next will be the exhaust system which is completely awful for a kit of this quality, tons of filling, filing, sanding, repainting and applying new decals which thankfully were include in Paul Koo’s stuff. (Not pictured yet)

There is still a lot of tiny painting details to add on the engine. This kit is really challenging my “Bike Queen” title :))

I've said it before, but I will say it again. The combination of that larger scale and your skill in bringing it to life is really resulting in a very realistic looking motor. Excellent work Cricket (@bikequeen). And don't worry about the title. You have that one down pat.

Hi Cricket (@bikequeen): I agree with Carl (@clipper). Your work on this larger scale bike is nothing short of miraculous. It would be hard to tell the difference between the engine in the photos and the real thing. Weather in central Texas has been bad also. I can't remember how many watches and warnings we have had this spring, but we are expecting another day with 3 out of 5 chance of large hail (3+ inches), winds over 70 mph, and possible tornadoes. Things seem to get worse every year.

@clipper Thank you Carl! Without the add ons, this kit would be nothing. The wiring adds a lot and will not be accurate comped to the real bike but adds a lot ot it. This would have been a great winter kit, but I’m on a roll 🙂
