@gblair Thanks George! I can’t help myself :). I get started and cant stop 🙂 there hearse could have been better…kept going today just to keep my mind busy and off the weather. I had to stop. Couple times and go turn on the tornado siren :(. They say it changing weather patterns because of pollution and alll that but I’m not sure about all that (expletive) stuff. Anyway….im happy with how the rollers came out considering they are wood 🙂

@gblair. Also we are at that wonderful place where all the warm moist gulf air hit the cold fronts that come down from the west, meet and BANG…they clash…usually over my house ; ) and it cause very unstable atmosphere

Saw the news on the tornadoes, Cricket (@bikequeen). They look really bad. I am really getting tired of worrying about this severe weather, which seems much worse now than it used to be.

Keep up the work on the hearse, Cricket @bikequeen, we don’t want to see it coming to a dead end (sorry, I couldn’t resist it.)

    Really nice progress, Cricket @bikequeen
Not an easy task to keep focussed in those weather conditions.
Glad you didn't suffer any damage from it.

As long as we are doing “gallows humor”. I’m ‘dying’ to get this finished 🙂

Did the rear suspension and it wasn’t fun, the white metal is terrible and a pain to work with. Nothing fits right and it’s poorly cast. Anyway picture are the Suspension and roof vent

The roof vent was kinda fun but scary at first as I didn’t think I could do it…came out great

i shaved the long part with an Exacto blade then sanded it, it worked beautifully

Moving on I sanded the edges to get the angle, primed it and smoothed ot and sprayed it gold, then attached it

The white metal parts in this kit are really old school technology, Cricket (@bikequeen). When I started modeling a long time ago, the detail and conversion parts you could buy were all cast in white metal. It wasn't till years later that resin was used. You are really doing a good job cleaning up the parts, painting them, and then getting them on the hearse. This is looking really cool.

That looks like a real pain to build and I admire the progress you are making Cricket @bikequeen. Recently I was driving thru a farm town in California’s Central Valley and passed a church where a biker funeral was going on. I had to go around the block couple of times to make sure this hearse was for real. The casket was already placed inside. Take a look here:

Cast white metal should be dead and buried, I remember struggling with it during my railway modelling days, you’re doing a really good job with this, Cricket @bikequeen. By the way, hope you don’t mind me mentioning it, but are your finger nails coloured to go with this model?

@gblair thanks George! I got the cannon kit today and it’s ALL metal :(. Also 1/16th. I didnt open the packagers so we will see what it looks like at Christmas…SIGH

I had a Hubley car years and years ago….actually decades ago 🙂 I never built it as it was metal and had some wicked flash on it….wih I still had it it was better than this. This metal really looks and acts like lead
