Great work, John (@johnb). The engine will be very visible at the rear of the plane, so all of your extra work will be worth the effort. Your work with your drill is amazing. It always seems when I do drill holes that the drill bit never stays where I put it and ends up making a mess of the holes.

George: to keep drill bits from wandering, I always make a pilot hole first using a needle or something with a sharp point and making sure it’s dead center.

John- that detail work on the engine really makes it. For a first time biplane, you’ve pulled out all the stops here and it’s really paying off.

@fiveten, Thanks my friend. Those small modification can indeed improve the final looks. First time I did those modifications, but definitely not the last time.

@airbum, Thanks Erik. Time to put tension on those wires and hope they remain stuck with the lower wing.

@gblair, Thanks a lot. Before drilling I marked the location with an awl. After that the drilling went quiet well. Unfortunately not all my fingers came out uninjured.

@eb801, Thanks. Precisely the way I performed the drilling. I did start with the smallest drill bit I have and then slightly increased the diameter of the bit till it looked correct to me.

@j-healy, Thanks John. Pretty happy with the progress so far.

That engine really "pops" @johnb. This whole project is really outstanding.

@coling, Thanks. Hope to be able to close the upperwing and mount the engine coming weekend. Get those cables fixed tightly to the upperwing also requires quiet some patience as well.

    @mvtb, Thanks a lot Marcus.

After an extreme busy week at work and supporting my daughter during a horse riding competition this weekend, I was able to make some progress on the Walrus.

Rigging wires were tightend and glued to lower part of the upper wing. Next I closed the upper wing and masked the remaining unpainted parts.

All paintwork is done now but still needs some touch-ups here and there.

The tone difference between the lower wings and the rest of the plane is more recognizable than I expected.

After touch-ups are done I will provide a gloss coat and start applying the decals.

John - that rigging looks perfect. I am impressed. Still using Uschi? How did you go about tightening the wires? I can see the upper wing does cast quite a shadow making the lower wing look darker.

Brilliant work John, the rigging is sharp and looks incredible. I have really enjoyed the build and look forward to the next update.

Really liking how this is going! Walruses always remind me of attempting to build a tiny one in an Airfix HMS Belfast kit as a kid, it didn't end well. The rigging in particular looks amazing and I have the utmost respect for somoene able to rig together any model!

Looking really amazing, my friend @johnb! Painting is excellent; I saw you made use of Patafix.
The upper/lower wing tonal difference is noticeable and looks super!
    Rigging is excellent, as well!
Looking forward to your next steps!

@eb801, Thanks Eric. The rigging is done with fishing line 0.18mm. At first glued to the lower wing with CA glue and later when the lower part of the upper was mounted, I tightend the wires and glued with CA as well.

@adrianstarling, Thank you Adrian. The wires still contain remains of the paintwork, need to remove that and paint them silver.

@scalerambush, Thanks Harvey. That rigging took more time than expected. I also applied more wires, Iit turned out that in real there were more than what was indicated by Airfix.

@fiveten, thank you my friend. Yes, patafix is very helpful with these schemes. As a matter of fact, I even learned from you about this great material. Thanks for that.

Rigging and paint look great, John (@johnb). Looking forward to your decals. I think your success with this has inspired me to start on a biplane that I have been dragging around for years.
