Glad to have you here Eric. That Cavalier conversion is very cool and of excellent quality from what we read from Tom Cleaver work awhile ago. I look forward to see your Mustang III when you tackle it

Well, with only 46 parts, this kit is not difficult to get through the assembly stage. As you can see from the photos, the surface detail is pretty astounding. The only place that is difficult to get right is the lower rear attachment of wing to fuselage. Fortunately not an area that gets a lot of looks once completed.

    On to the paintshop next.

Great speed Tom, heading for the paint house for sure.
The surface detail of that resin is comparable to Eduard plastic it seems, no?
    Great work as usual

"Beguine" painted. I used Tamiya "Royal Blue" for this. The prop and spinner and canopy were painted with Vallejo Aluminum over a base of Tamiya X-1 "Gloss Black". The nose of the radiators on the wingtip were painted with Vallejo "Gold".

Wow ! My friend you work way too fast for me to keep up, and I mean this in a good way. I just stumbled across this latest post when I was checking in our our mutual builds. I have made a little bit of progress on one of my Mustangs too, but it's not enough to worry about posting though ...

I have seen several photos of Beguine, with some of them being in color. Like most air racers, I'm thinking it would have been painted differently according to the era you were building it for. I've found a few pictures where it is a beautiful Dark Blue, like you have done here, a nice Dark Green, and also in one photo it looks almost like it could even be in a Black color.

I like it the best in the Dark Blue colors.
You were correct about this being a much better option going with the resin kit like you have done here, than to even try and scratch build something myself. It would be a recipe for disaster on my part. One of these days I will pull the trigger on this kit and hopefully one of the XP-51's both in 1/48 scale.

Have you added the decals yet ? If so, can you please post a picture or two of it done ?

Well done, and I look forward to seeing it in the headlines section.

Looking awesome, Tom (@tcinla). The blue finish and changes to the wingtips really make it look like something other than a P-51.

Nice to see you're building the Beguine, Tom @tcinla. I agree that Halberd's surface detail is every bit as good as Eduard. I just received my second Halberd kit, the Piper Enforcer and the parts look awesome.

"Beguine" is finished. Review at M2 on Thursday. This is a well-designed resin kit, easy to assemble. It would be a good choice for a modeler thinking of doing their first all-resin kit.
