Here it is. We are metal!
I like experiments and I had idea to use pre-shading under the metal color in quite specific way to achieve "real-look" of this aircraft. I am very satisfied with the result and I got a lot of experience for next NMF aircraft I plan to build.
I used GSI black and white as a base and then I sprayed ALCLAD Dark Aluminium and MRP White Aluminium.
Cowling is Dark Aluminum in front (underlayed with White Aluminium) and the rest is White Aluminum.

There is still some way to go, but I have still 2 weeks (my personal deadline) to finish this bird.
I just need to finish some small parts and get everything ready for decals and weathering.

Your idea turned out great, Martin.
The finish of that NMF looks great.

That's a frantastic idea about underlying a NMF paint job. I'm definitely going to try it with the next P-51. This is really turning into a super project and it definitely demonstrates which kit has the best potential for becoming a good Bearcat model.

Thank you Tom. I have used post shadind twice , but it requires maximum control of overlaying shades, which need a lot of thinner . The preshading looks more safe, but also here it turned out that metal shades tended to show preshading more than I thought.
I would recommed you to use less contrast - instead of white I would apply some light gray shade.
And... be prepared to polish surface after preshading to get nice shiny base for metal colors. I used Tamiya finish compound only.

I'm also intrigued by the pre-shading beneath NMF - I like it, and can see what you mean by going for a tad less contrast! Thanks for blazing the trail with your experiment - I'll benefit from it! It is looking fantastic.

It is not always nice as it might look.
An accident happened yesterday. I peeled off the color with masking tape when painting black stripe in front of cockpit...
It is bad when happened with normal colour, but disaster when it happened on NMF...
However, modelers deal with s**t on daily basis. I started fixing the hole...
I used surfacer - first applied with stick to get it out from the worst.
I used only sanding papers 1200 and higher (and not fresh, only worn ones).
And finally, i sprayed few thick layers of surfacer over and levelled everything very carefuly and polished with 2500.
It is not 120% perfect, but with litte weathering you will not notice.

So, I can continue with decals today, because I had some time to spray gloss varnish when surfacer was drying (I let it more time than usually).

It's not 120% perfect, but it sure is 100%, @naviatik!
Had you not told us, no one would know that such a mishap had happened.
Great remedial actions, by the way!
Looking forward to your nextr steps!

Don't worry about that 20%, it looks perfect at 100%, Martin.
It definitily shows your skills to have it recovered so nicely.

@naviatik - NEVER USE MASKING TAPE! If you get what is called "Drafting Tape," it is very low tack, and you will never have this trouble again. I only use Drafting Tape on NMF projects, not even any Tamiya kabuki tape.
