    White painting

It was time to apply some white paint.

Beforehand, I thought it would be a good idea to apply some brake lines to the MLG legs. They were made out of stretched sprue. Here they are:

I then applied white to all LG components, wheel bays, door innards, intake trunking and to the 4 Sidewinders (which are correct for the time period the camo represents). Here are a few shots:

    .

Upon drying, some more "Final Construction" will be commenced, before applying decals.

    Thanks for stopping by!

Great colors on this, Spiros. I really like the Aegean scheme F-16s and F-4s.

Always a nice detail with a pipe or two.

Thanks my friend @airbum! I used to leave gear legs without brake lines, but, once I did it, I could not live without adding them, even if they are an ultra simplified representation of the real thing!

Yes, brake lines really make it. Your stretched sprue looks perfect. Nice and even. And those sidewinders validate keeping boxes full left over kit parts for occasions just like this. I'll be waiting for your next installment, Spiros.

Very nice progress my friend, @fiveten
At first I thought the brake lines were made of fibre optic wire because they looked very thin.
So great work on getting the sprue stretched into such a fine thread.
White paint also looks very nice.

John @johnb, sprue can actually be made ultrathin - it is a matter of how brave you are and the speed you pull. I have on occasion made some so thin it became flimsy! try heating two ends to almost liquid and then quickly let them touch each other and immediately pull - a few trials and you will get it nailed! By trial and error it is possible to make almost any thickness you desire.

Stretched Sprue! Why haven't I thought of that for my CF-100. I think I should re-visit some of my scratch built details and add some sprue. Your F-16 is turning into a real beautiful lady. Well done my friend!

    Thanks my friends @eb801, @johnb, @airbum and @mornem!

Yep, Eric, I never throw anything! It's amazing how helpful a dungeon can be!

I use stretched sprue of various sixes, doing various things, even prop shafts. I have even stretched a qtip, to make a hollow mini tube (well, not that easy!). Of course, as a means, it has its plus and minuses. One of the pluses is that, being styrene, it can be laid at place and then firmly "attached" there by been lightly pressed with a thin paintbrush that had already been dipped in ultra thin styrene glue. Oh, best of all, it's zero cocstly and readilly available, you will never run out of stock!

    Started decalling

Upon white curing I started some decalling.

For the HAF insignia, I used the excellent Afterburner decal sheet (sadly, OOP, maybe for good...)

. It is printed by Cartograf, so you can admire their excellency applied on the model.

    All other decals will come from the kit decal sheet. Even the serial No of the plane (139) came by altering the "286" kit provided decal code ("6" became "9", "8" was cut and became "3", 2" 's long leg was isolated to become "1"). I also applied the Inflight refueling visual aid and some "DON'T WALK" lines. Here are hte results with more decalling to come);

    Thanks for stopping by!

Hey, it has stickers on it now! Looking good - are we gonna see some nice, harsh Greek sun weathering on this jewel, or will it be showroom?
