@jpatt1000 Josh, it might do with the fact, that windshield can be armored, while single-piece canopy, at least in those times, couldn't be. If not for the enemy bullets, bird strike poses quite a threat. That's also one of the reasons why Raytheon went with windshield/canopy configuration with T-6 Texan II instead of a single piece canopy on a Pilatus PC-9.
Not happy with the underside blue, New one a little bit more lighter.
