Thanks, Spiros (@fiveten). We will see if everything works.

Thanks, John (@j-healy). The nose compartment fit perfectly horizontally, but was short vertically. No way to fix that besides sanding and filler. Since all 3 kits are from the same molds, I figure the added piece will be needed for all three, but I will still check the fit before I assume anything.

I started moving my lead Hudson (Revell) forward today. I glued the glass nose compartment on to the fuselage. The width was perfect with the 1mm spacer, but the glass was too small in the vertical dimension. I wanted to let the glue set up for a while, so I started assembling some of the other components. Sanding, shaping, and filling on the nose tomorrow. Cheers.

Great progress, my friend @gblair! Overall fit of the nose is good, I believe the dealing with the lower step will be ok.

A pity the nose doesn't fit entirely, George @gblair
This step at the bottom seems to be able to correct nicely.

Nicely done with all the challenges.

Thanks, Spiros (@fiveten), John (@johnb), and Erk (@airbum). We have all seen worse joints between pieces, but I hate to do a lot of filling and sanding around glass. I think I prefer the way the old Airfix kit was laid out with the fuselage and nose as one piece.

Real life things got in the way of modeling time today, and tomorrow I have Grandpa duty, so not anything to report on the Hudsons. I did find an interesting model in one of the storage boxes in my garage. I am contemplating adding it to the trio.

Looks like a great kit and addition to the other three, George @gblair
Does it use the same molds as well?

Hi Spiros (@fiveten), John (@johnb), and Bernard (@lis). I have been doing a little research on this model and have discovered that I have once again confused the Hudson and the Ventura. If I have my info correct, the Hudson is based on the Lockheed Model 14 Super Electra airliner. Lockheed later created a larger airliner called the Lockheed Model 18 Lodestar, which was a bigger version of the Model 14 that would better compete with the DC-3 airliner. Later in the war (1942), the British wanted a larger version of the Hudson that was more powerful and could carry a larger load. The Lodestar, which was a larger and more powerful version of the Lockheed Super Electra, was converted into the Ventura bomber. The passenger version in the military was still known as the Lodestar.

To finally answer your question, John (@johnb), this kit isn't the same as the Hudsons I have. According to Scalemates, this kit came out in 2006 and has been released 2 other times, always as a Lodestar. It might be interesting to build it along with the others to see the differences.

I'm very impressed with how you handled the nose assemblies, George (@gblair). It will really pay off with the finished models. Your photos are excellent. They really let us see what you are doing.
