1/48 Accurate Miniatures B-25D Mitchell “Tondelayo”
This is 1/48 Accurate Miniatures B-25D Mitchell finished with the markings of Tondelayo from 500th BS 345th BG in Nadzab New Guinea during 1944. Camouflage is Olive drab over Neutral grey with red cowl rings and a white stripe completely encircling the fuselage in front of the dorsal turret. Four machine guns protrude through the painted over nose glazing. Note that plexiglass tail cone has been removed.
Construction started from the cockpit as usual. Cockpit modified by Eduard instrument panel and Pavla resin seats.
I have decided to use Quickboost engines and to replace inaccurate engine cowlings by DMold late type cowlings.
Painting was done with Gunze Sangyo acrylics.
I have used Aeromaster #48 691 Best Sellers Marauding Mitchells Part IV decal sheet
Final modification is for the wheels. I have used True details B-25B-J wheel set.
This is finished after some weathering and a matt coat
Happy modelling
