1/48 F-16CJ and F-16CG in Bosnia

November 23, 2012 · in Aviation · · 2 · 1.6K

Hi all,

Here are some 's I completed during the Christmas season last year. I am a teacher, so do most work on my break times. I used the Dr Pepper resins WAR hud for the CG, and aftermarket decals for both the kits. One is the standard Hasegawa F-16CJ, the other is a standard Hasegawa C issue. Both have bigmouth intakes- the CJ already has one in the kit, someone online happened to have a spare kit intake to give me because they used a resin replacement intake on their CJ.

I have no idea why I digressed to USAF (NO offence to USAF fans) but I have so many USN That I need to get moving on, and yet they seem to stall in the build pile! I guess these were just the right time and the right subjects...

I am presently doing two A-7E's at the same time- I hope to complete them this Christmas season!

  1. Dan...are those the Tamiya kits or what? I like the choices of armament used. I must admit I've never seen "Dr. Pepper" resins advertised anywhere. Nice job on both.

  2. One is the Hasegawa F-16CJ, and the other a standard Hasegawa C- I got hold of a Hasegawa bigmouth intake from someone who used a seamless s****r replacement I think, and then I was able to use a Tamiya fan blade part to detail the interiors of the intakes. I would need to re-shoot and do a lot of macro for you to be able to see what I have done. You may also notice that I have the chaff/flare buckets in place- they come from the Aires etch sheets for the F-16C, and some etch parts I happened to have in the spares.
