Tamiya F4F Wildcat
I’ve built about 40-45 1/48 model aircraft over the last 25 years (yes, I am the world’s slowest builder, lol) but this Wildcat was my first Tamiya kit. I finished it last year and I have to say that all I had heard about its ease of construction was pretty much true. The upper side color is MM medium gray and the lower color is MM gull gray. I used the Tamiya decals and had no trouble with them. Here are a few pics of the Wildcat, taken at the airport. Thanks for looking!

Great photography you could convince me it’s real. Not a complaint or a knock, but those airplanes in that scheme were more blue than people realize.

beautifully rendered…kit decals are fine…much stronger than after market that can dissolve right before your eyes

Yes, you’re right Bob, the kit decals did fine. I had zero problems with them, in spite of warnings to the contrary. I appreciate your compliments!

Thanks Sarge! Those are some great compliments. I appreciate your dad’s service too. My own father was a combat vet too; 87th Infantry Division in Europe. Those guys saved our bacon in WWII and said, “just doin’ our job”. Here’s to our dads, and may they never be forgotten! Thanks so much, Gary
