1:48 Hasegawa P-40K-5CU
Hey folks, my first post here. Kit is the 1:48 scale Hasegawa P-40K "Warhawk". Model is built pretty much out of the box with the exception of the resin wheels from True Details and the wire brake lines...not really OOB now is it?
I used a combination of decals from the scrap box, most are Aeromaster with a few from the kit added too.
I painted her with Model Master Enamels. Fading was done by changing the hue of the base color by adding a touch of light grey, one or two drops at a time, and masking off panels indiscriminately.
Weathering was through thinned oils and pastel chalk, while the antenna are nylon thread.
Nice to break the ice and I look forward to posting more here. Thanks!
Congrats on your first post! Like the subtle variances in the base color. Keep em coming!
Good lookin shark. Havent built one yet, but lookin forward to it.
It's quite a kit, Jeff. It does have a couple of, "ARRGHHHHH" things that need to be dealt with, (like all the little plugs needed to make the different P-40 variants...) but that being said the good FAR outweigh the bad.
Very nice work there, Fred...good job with the weathering and detail(s).
That's a handsome bird, and very well done! I thought that OOB exists only at the planning stage š
Yes it does! I really DO try to keep most builds as close to OOB as I can. Thanks!
I love the classic P-40, very nice!
