Vought A-7D Corsair II, Hasegawa, 1/48, Ohio ANG
My 3rd post I will present the very nice A-7D from Hasegawa in 48th scale. This built around 2006, images taken with an Olympus SP-55OUZ digital camera. Using Eduards zoom color PE set for the cockpit, Super Scale decals, and ordnance from one of the Hasegawa weapons set to build this one for ARC's Corsair/Crusader group build contest. Other than that everything else is from the kit. Adding one final detail is Steel Beach's intake cover. Not a difficult build. Just normal seam clean up at the wing join on the upper fuselage. Otherwise it was quite enjoyable. Representing the Ohio Air National Guard, the bumble bee decal was not difficult to apply, though it seems like I did hold my breath while applying them on both sides of the tail. Gunship Grey Fs 36118 and Blue Grey 35327 using Polly Scale acrylics freehanded the camo using my trusty Paasche H single action air brush.

Nice build, Chuck...I painted mine white/orange trim as a chase.

Thanks for the comments Drew, though not as eye fetching as your Phantom is.

Great looking build. Kinda curious if the wing stayed on when you turned it over. I think Ohio A-7's came over to Camp Atterbury in Indiana to use the gunnery range. Used to be able to get on base to watch before 9-11.

Hi Al, that image was taken during the work in progress phase, so it was taken before the folding wings were installed.

Thank you Steve, the memories live on through the models I build, the aircraft I saw in action or on display. It is my passion.
