  1. What a beauty. Looks great with all the flaps & slats deployed.

  2. A real show stopper ...with the wings and flaps extended. Like the washes in the recesses and its been dirtied up enough to look like the real a/c. Hard to believe that these birds were recently retired from front line duty. They represent the Vietnam time frame. Which for some of us was yesterday...

  3. Like the others have said, this is a great model, you must be really pleased with it. I love the way you photograph it on your flag, too!

  4. Our young master builder from "down under" has returned with yet another FANTASTIC model. Welcome back, young genius. I always look forward to seeing your work. It should please us all to see young folks carrying on and indeed surpassing our beloved hobby. Your work is excellent and will only get better. This is Outstanding
P.S. Has the Queenslands show come to pass yet? If so, how did your F-16 do?

    • Hey guys , thanks for all the good comments 🙂 really appreciate it. As for the Queensland model show, I was unable to enter in the end as I had my semi finals on for football (or soccer). But was able to go down on the first day and pick up some great kits and aftermarket

      • Matt,
Not to worry about missing the contest. Just think, by not being there, you made some other person in your age class a lot more comfortable. Your school and activities are far more important to you at this age. You can build models for the rest of your life. Beside that, too many trophies on your self just collect dust.

  5. Just beautiful !

  6. But... but... you don't have any fire coming out the tail! Didn't all Aussie Pigs have fire coming out the tail?

Seriously, very nice work indeed. I think it's the best one you have shown us so far, from a very nice collection.

  7. That's a breath-taking model Matt! It really does look great, very well done indeed.

  8. Outstanding, Matt...a real eye-catcher. Beautiful photography.

  9. A real nice Pig, Matt. You do great work.

  10. That is some of the best modeling work if seen. Looking forward to more pics!

  11. Impeccable work. Three Yank cheers for the RAAF!

  12. AWESOME!

I worked on the US version of these planes in the 1980's..

    REALLY a huge airplane.

You have made an amazing rendition here. Kudos!

JUST noticed this was a post from 7 years ago...
    oops

  13. Great looking model Matt (@mattymears). I know it's been a while since you posted this, but I'm relatively new to the site (about a year or so).

I love the way you have detailed this kit, with the extras and the painting and weathering - looks ripper!

I have just bought the same HobbyBoss kit, and I can't wait to start it (but for now it's in a 5-model que stash ha ha!).

One thing that surprises me about this kit is that you MUST set the wings forward. You can set them swept but then you must modify the trailing edge flaps to be in a closed position (the kit option is open only). I thought about mdifying the wings so that they can be positioned forwards or swept, but after some research, I found that it's been attempted, and the result wasn't great (the wing support was lost and they ended up sagging!)

So anyway- I hope my model looks half as good as yours does! Great job mate.
