A-36A at Chino in 2010
This is the A-36A owned by Tom Friedkin, after it was restored for flight by Fighter Rebuilders in 2010. The airplane is now painted like the A-36A from the 86th FBG with the mission marks all over the fuselage, one of the decal options in the Accurate Miniatures kit.

Tom, is this the same aircraft as in your photo?

This was at the Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston in 2001. The serial on the tail was 42-83731, which may or may not have been correct.

Possibly - that airplane was non-operational for a long while (the fool who painted it like Flying Undertaker needs to be found face down in a dark alley). At least now it looks like an A-36.

Can't argue with your assessment on the paint job!
