Wedell-Williams Air Racer
Jimmy Haizlip’s 1932 version of the Jimmy Wedell design.
1/32 Williams Bros. kit which is currently available. I chose the easiest of the three versions available in the original kit, don’t know if they are all available in the current kit. If memory serves me right this kit is an easy assembly for a W-B kit.
The kit was finished with rattle can paint. It was also cleared with about the only product available then & is starting to yellow. My story is that represents the dope the 1:1 aircraft was finished in. Huh!

An airplane with wheel spats, a classic! Nice clean build, I think the paint scheme is great just the way it is.

Nice build Al…….I have all the racer kits and the GeeBee is almost done. What an era that was. I hope to see more done.

Al,
Very nice. Having built a number of WB kits I know how difficult it is to do them right. You have done a beautiful job on this. I like seeing the old racers.

I like racers of all sorts, and you’ve definitely brought out the ‘racer’ look on this one. It’s beautifully simple, obviously designed for just one purpose. Nice photographs, too.

Very nice. One of the classic racers.
