1/48 Tamiya P-51B
This is my Tamiya P-51B flown by Henry Brown of Dallas, TX. Upper camouflage is Tamiya RAF dark green and the inderside is Alclad aluminum for the metel parts and semi-gloss silver for the painted wings. The figure is from Ultracast. Pictures were taken with my iphone and I can't get very clear on the close-in ones.
Maybe its just me, but I think Mustangs look a lot meaner with an O.D. finish as opposed to a NMF. This build has it all, green with invasion stripes, nicely done.
Thank you, Seamus.
Terrific Mustang John. Definitely has the look.
Thank you, Al.
You should try to recreate that b&w shot with your model outside with the wind swinging the prop! Excellent painting on the pilot!
Thank you, Josh. I have been thinking about how to do one in flight with a spinning prop but that as far as I have gotten.
Nice Mustang there John, I like it.
Well done sir.
Thak you, Simon.
This is a difficult scheme, a project on which more than a few I've known have foundered. You've done it perfectly. Well done!
Thank you, Tom.
Very nice work John, I like how the wash accented panel lines. Cheers!
Thank you, Srdjan.
Ditto! 🙂 Really nice job.
Thank you, Gregor.
Very nice looking model, John, that colour scheme really suits the Mustang, and you've done a really good job on it, neatly displayed, but, hey, what's wrong with using a proper camera?
Thank you, George. Nothing wrong with a proper camera, I just don't have one. If I did, I would have to lean to use it...and as you can see from my iphone taken pictures, I have a lot to learn.
John,
This Is gorgeous. You did an outstanding job on this. I really like the "B" and you have captured it's beauty. I really like this.
Thank you, Frank.
Nice clean build, great paint application.
Beautiful work, John.
Thank you Joe
