1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Mk.Vb trop
This was built several years ago. This is 1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Mk.Vb trop with Turkish Air Force (TuAF) markings. In 1944 39 Spitfire Mk.Vb were sent from RAF Mediterranean stocks.
The cockpit is modified with:
-
Eduard PE instrument panel
-
Ultracast Spitfire resin seat
-
Cutting Edge GM2 gunsight
The additional replacement parts are ;
-
Ultracast Spitfire MkV exhaust
-
The elevators from Ultracast Spitfire MkV Control surfaces set
The painting was done mostly with Gunze Sangyo acrylics. Upper surfaces painted with Gunze Sangyo Dark earth and Middlestone. Underside painted to “RAF Azure blue” by using a mixing from Tamiya acrylics. The square national insignias are from Turquoise decals . Black Code numbers (5514) are “home made” by my friend Özkan Türker. It s finished after a matt coat from Gunze.
Yet another boringly fantastic build with a like number of excellent photographs to accompany it. Can't you at least post ONE crappy model..? After all - others have (me included) 🙂
I applaud your many talents, sir.
Thanks Craig
There were a couple of crappy models from my neolitic age but they are not existing anymore 🙂
Great work Tolga, superb build and finish as usual.
Some nice pics as well.
Thanks for posting.
Tolga,
Very nice and not common version you built. This push me more to finish my projects.
Cheers from Mexico.
I always enjoy seeing your exceptional models. Bet the decal work didn't take long.
Tolga,
Absolutely beautiful. Your skill with models is indeed impressive.
Excellent finish and detail, Tolga.
Beautiful work (as usual) on this one Tolgar.
Just plain beautiful Tolga, as is all your work. Lovely clear photos as well. I particularly like the after-market add ons. what a difference they make!
Another great build Tolga! Interesting that there are no upper-wing markings. You would think, as a neutral, they would have markings on every surface!
Simply a perfect model, Tolga ! Did you have checked out Tigerhead Decals?
Thanks, Yes I know these sets. But this model was built before they are issued.
There seems to be a kind of Spitfire mini group build going on here, I only wish I had one to add to it, the only thing is it wouldn't be anything like as good as this one, really excellent, Tolga, as always.
Very nice mate! Those seat belts are impressive! Cool weathering also.
I wish I could paint like this Tolga. what a great model.

Thanks for your comments.
Superb model Tolga, it's a pleasure to see such skill.
