1/48 Airfix Spitfire PR Mk. XIX

April 18, 2015 · in Aviation · · 7 · 3.5K

Here are some photos of my recently completed Mk. XIX. The model was painted with Model Master enamels. I added several items from Barracuda Studios which include the prop, wheels, exhausts, sliding portion of the canopy, carburetor intake and the snapshot cockpit set. The model went together with no major issues and now my 1/72 version has a bigger brother!

  1. Geoff, great looking Spitfire. These recent Airfix kits have provided a sound platform for the type in 1/48. Well done.

  2. Stunning job, Geoff...and excellent photos as well. Now all ya need is the 1/32nd version, right? 🙂
By the way, good to see you here...it's been a while.

  3. Great work, it is such a ridiculously beautiful aircraft, you have to wonder why they stopped making them, I'd buy one today for sure! 🙂

  4. @James Robert: Let's ask for a volume discount.
@Geoffrey: Great job in breaking up the blue in different shades.

  5. Nice build!

  6. Spitfires always look so beautiful, and this one is no exception, the blue livery really suits it. Good job, Geoffrey!

  7. Beautiful!
