Rivet City (Monogram) HU-16B

February 1, 2023 · in Aviation · · 18 · 0.8K

One to add to my archive. I made this one some years ago. Festooned with rivets, I did my best to get a good fit between parts so I could avoid sanding them away. Tamiya spray can silver and Testors paints finished the job.

  1. Another golden oldy, nicely done, very colorful scheme.

  2. Very nice job on this oldie, Scott!
    Well done!

  3. Grear result of this old kit, Scott @guitarhack5

  4. It has been a while since I looked inside the box of the one in my stash. Indeed those rivets are HUGE! Nice build considering the raw material Scott.

  5. Nicely done Scott, boring old silver, not.

  6. Nothing wrong with oldies, this one Pops! Lovely old bird.

  7. Classic Albatross, well done, Scott.

  8. Scott, @guitarhack5, that looks good. Vintage can still look good as your build shows. I like the colorful scheme you built also. Having built a Grumman Goose, let me tell you, Grumman used a lot of rivets! The kit is out of scale but trust me the real thing has a lot of rivets.

  9. Great result; congratulations!

  10. Awesome result!- I regret having sold my unbuilt kit off years ago...but then, I regret all my half built kits that I am currently working on!

  11. Nice to see this one made, great job!

  12. A very colourful Albatross Scott with a great finish on another oldie. Nice one 👍

  13. Love all the Rivets ! Great work Scott.

  14. Looks great - very colorful scheme. Nicely done.

  15. Thank you all for the kind words. I do wish some of those decals had lain down a bit better. But, even the Walthers didn't do the trick.

  16. Talk about going down memory lane! Did one years (& years) ago. Great job; good on you!
