1/48 RF-101B VOODOO
Hello, Just finished up the Monogram kit, I do like some of the 1950s , aircraft. the model was painted with modelmaster paints, and a black box cockpit was added , I used the internet to get some good photos and the help of a good friend. I used the SEA camo scene
I used a drafting pencil on the raised panel line, I used alcad on the nozzles. did a little fading and weathering to the aircraft. I had a blast building this one its a oldie but goodie.
enjoy Kelly
Very nice SEA paint. Did the f101 see combat in SEA i know the RF101 did
Thanks You, NO combat
Very nice Kelly. Those old Monogram kits are still loads of fun to build and as you've nicely demonstrated, can be made into a fine model. Great job for sure.
Thanks Jim, That kit was loaded with detail. going back to when kits were 8-10 dollars .cant beat it. 1970-80s kit, still holds up today.
Nice build, and once again proof that those old Monogram kits are great kit to build. Nicely done!
Thank You Rob
Can't beat those "old" Monogram kits...still some of the best out there. Good work on the Voodoo...I like it!
Thanks Craig,
Kelly, really nice looking, usually raised panels are a issue with me, but you did a great job on this one. Well done !
Thanks Terry, One of the reason i wanted to build the monogram kit , to see if i can pull it off, (raised Panels) had fun with it.
I love what you did with this old Monogram. Proof again that Monogram kits still build into awesome models. Well done!
Thank you, Monogram has some great old kits, I will do other one.
Great job on a dated (but still cool) kit. Very nice finish & weathering.
Thanks Stan ,I enjoyed it
Beautiful Voodoo , love that Monogram kits too.
Thank you Bernd
Ah - I've had a 1/72 Hasegawa RF-101 build and stuck in pre-paint stage for months now while I figured out what to do with the raised panel lines - you've just given me a great idea! I may be able to bite the bullet and finish this thing now.
Yours looks great - nicely done!
Thanks Greg, Bite and go
This old Mono kit was also one of the first I build when I got back into modeling in my late 20's. My dad had flown the 101, and I never realized how cool-looking of an aircraft it really was until I build this kit.
That is cool that he was a 101 driver,
Kelly, the 2H pencil?
yes 2H and 4B FOR CONTRAST
Great looking plane and model, always reminds of that Jimi Hendrix track...
THANK YOU
Nice work on the camouflage scheme and a beautiful model, Clark
