North American FJ-1 Fury 1/72
One of the first operational jet aircraft for the US Navy its service was short. First flight was 1946. They operated with VF-5A,[ VF-51],and then Naval Reserve units. in service until 1954.About thirty aircraft were produced.
The model is a short run by Siga , the markings are of VF-5A which became VF-51, the only active squadron to fly the FJ-1,they flew off USS Boxer CV 21 1948.
Nice little build...don't see too many of 'em.
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Nice one Robert, too tell you the truth, this one is like the sixth one I have seen. Not a much seen aircraft. Thank you for sharing these images ... 🙂 .
I want one! I built Emhar's FJ-4 (also a rudimentary kit), and I think it needs this sitting next to it to show lineage!
Nice looking build you got out of the kit.
Just found one on ebay - wish me luck...!
I've built the FJ-4 too. Both are similar to build, You'll have no trouble.
Neat little model there, Robert, is this a recent build?
