SMS ADLER, Austro- Hungarian Torpedoboot 1886 1/72 scale

Hi Again,

Here is my scale SMS Adler a Yarrow built Austro-Hungarian torpedo boat used in the late 1880's

The kit is a multi-media affair produced by the Austrian manufacturer Weiner Scale Modelbau and took me about 2 years to finish on and off.

The major components consist of resin with the finer details in photo etch and turned brass. The masts are real wood.

I painted the kit in Gunz acrylics and weathered her rather heavily as these boats were coal fired and thus got quite dirty, for this I used a combination of Flory washes, Mig washes and pigments.

The crew is also from Weiner Modelbau (can you spot the ships dog?)

Final rigging was completed with ezi-line.

Thanks for looking!
