1/48 Fujimi F-14A Black Bunny
Hi everyone,
This time Fujimi's 1/48 F-14A Black Bunny from the VX-4 Evaluators.
Not so much to write about the kit. However, to be honest, the kit was a little bit of disappointment for me. I was expecting to see a better quality from Fujimi considering the size of the kit. Particularly the weapons were poor quality.
The single pro of the kit was its huge decal sheet providing you to build a fighter for two different squadrons.
The build was straight OOB without too much pain.
I used Tamiya's semi-gloss Black without priming the kit. The best part of the build was that, I didn't have to think about pre-shading, weathering and all the other stuff.
Once finished, with its impressive size, it's one of the most prominent and eye catching kits of my collection. However, for the rivet counters, you have to double the price you pay and opt for the Hasegawa's Black Bunny!
Sorry for the poor lighting, however still try to enjoy the pics..
Emre
I'm not an aircraft guy so I've never a built a Fujimi plane kit, but, I'd give their car kits the same comment, compared to Tamiya they lack detail and a little quality. The plus side of Fujimi, especially with their car kits, is that do kits of things that no-one else does...
Impressive build. Nice scheme.
Thanks Robert..
Nice Tomcat, Emre!
Thanks Drew..
Whatever the problems of the are, you turned it into a beautiful result.
Congrats !
Thank you Bernd..
Nice looking cat, never knew there was a black one. Turned out well.
Thanks Tom..
Excellent result Emre! The Tomcat looks cool in the black scheme and, as you now know, painting an a/c in black is no easy task, so well done!
Thanks a lot Nick...
Very nice build, Emre...VERY nice.
Thank you very much Craig:)
Nice Tomcat! Older "non-stealth" aircraft just look kinda funky in black.
Know what you mean about Fujimi kits. Although they do some things well, they usually tend to break up a kit into really weird sections and fiddly bits, seemingly just to boost the parts count! However, a little elbow grease and you usually end up with a decent representation - as yours ended up to be!
Thanks for your comment Greg...
Nice build, and a very different colour scheme. Very cool!
Thank you Richard..
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
That is one very sharp looking TOMCAT Emre. Nice paint job. You say it is one of the prominent and eye catching kits in your collection, I have no doubt of that. Very nice build.
Thanks for the generous comment;)
Great looking Tomcat! The black is rock on this plane.
