1/72 Airfix A-4B Skyhawk

December 20, 2016 · in Aviation · · 16 Comments

Douglas A-4B completed in the markings of VMA-324 "Devil Dogs" flying off USS Independence in 1963. Added most of an Eduard Zoom set, Quickboost gun barrels and ejection seat. Painted with Gunze Mr Color. I don't usually build jets and it is only my third jet in 17 years. Markings are Xtradecal

  1. Gotta love a scooter !

  2. A good looking Scooter for sure...I'd say you and jets are doing just fine.

  3. The Skyhawk is probably my favourite American jet, the A-4B version is the best looking, and an Airfix 1/72 model to boot, what's not to like, it's great!

  4. Nice A-4. Airfix really got the shape right on this one. The "B" model nose is very distinct.

  5. Good to see you back posting, Geoff...from the looks of this, you should do a few MORE jets - this one turned out magnificently (as did those excellent photos). And I'd have never guessed this was a 72nd kit. Great job!

  6. Great Looking bird !

  7. Looks like your A-4 is right on the money... Fantastic work. The shoulder patch is a nice touch...

  8. Good looking model Geoffrey.

    Good pics as well.

  12. Great job! My vote is for you to do more jets!

  13. Beautiful looking bird

  14. Excellent build and presentation.

  15. Excellent construction and finish of this famous bird.

  16. Nice bird. Nice markings but I believe Xtradecals made a mistake and the Squadron colors were changed from red to green when they went aboard Independence actually.
