1/72 Airfix A-4B Skyhawk
1/72 Airfix Douglas A-4B Skyhawk completed in the markings of VMA-324 “Devil Dogs” flying off USS Independence in 1963. Added most of an Eduard Zoom set, Quickboost gun barrels and ejection seat. Painted with Gunze Mr Color. I don’t usually build jets and it is only my third jet in 17 years. Markings are Xtradecal

A good looking Scooter for sure….I’d say you and jets are doing just fine.

The Skyhawk is probably my favourite American jet, the A-4B version is the best looking, and an Airfix 1/72 model to boot, what’s not to like, it’s great!

Nice A-4. Airfix really got the shape right on this one. The “B” model nose is very distinct.

Good to see you back posting, Geoff….from the looks of this, you should do a few MORE jets – this one turned out magnificently (as did those excellent photos). And I’d have never guessed this was a 72nd kit. Great job!

Nice bird. Nice markings but I believe Xtradecals made a mistake and the Squadron colors were changed from red to green when they went aboard Independence actually.
