Model Expo Zeeland Hallen 18/19 February 2017 (Part 2)
Continuation of show report Model and Toy Fair in the “Zeelandhallen”Goes The Netherlands.
Very noticeable, that the average age of participants was well over fifty.
That is a real concern for the near future.
The youngsters on the last two pictures are “hopefully”the future.
Hope you enjoy, and again, I hope you don’t mind that all disciplines are included in this show report.
Regards,
Dirk

I had the opportunity of seeing the real Hawk One at the Abbotsford Air Show in 1977. You’ve done an excellent job in recreating it.

Hello Tom,
Any pictures left from your visit?

Thanks for sharing, Dirk. I always enjoy show pictures. The models look wonderful. I did notice that the camo table cover is about the worst thing to use to display camo models !
Dirk Derks said on February 23, 2017
Hi Terry,
I agree fully. Also the members are in camou. Most of them never served in the Armed Forces. But they are so positive about their hobby. Very friendly people.

Thanks for posting, Dirk. The age gapping issue is commonplace everywhere. The choices between electronic media and static modelling are hard to resolve.
Dirk Derks said on February 23, 2017
Hello Rob,
Good to hear from you, that it is a common problem world wide.
The good thing in this age group is the humor. One big family.
Regards, Dirk

Great display parts 1 and 2 Dirk, they’re all models, should be of some interest to everyone, thanks for posting.

It’s good to see such a widespread interest in modelling under one roof, it must give newcomers to the hobby a much a wider choice.

Excellent reports, Dirk. Thanks for posting!

PS – I know what you mean about youngsters being the future. If we could get them off their phones/I-pads/computers and get them interested in modeling, it would be so much better.
Dirk Derks said on March 3, 2017
Hi Jeffry,
At this moment a battle that we are losing.
But lets be positive.
