Now For Something Completely Different
Some time ago I decided that I wanted, little by little, to archive photos of most of my completed models here on iModeler. So if you will indulge me, I'm going to start with my figures.
This first one is a set of flats,Napoleon at the Farmhouse, I received from a friend in Germany. They are 30mm, which is about 1/48 scale. I don't remember the editor. The background is painted on artist quality drawing paper finished with gesso. I put on several layers of gesso, then sanded them smooth. The design of the background is a composite of ideas from a few different sources.
Scott, nicely done. I don't see flats too often, but I'm not a figures guy.
Thanks Bernard. Even in the figures world flats are a minority. At least in the US.
Tough to get that ronde boss effect, witness the side view. Calls for real artistic skill. You've got that. Thanks for showing them to us, look forward to seeing the rest.
Flat earth
Not being all that familiar with "flats" myself, perhaps a little perspective (i.e. different photo angles) would educate those of us neophytes of that genre. š
Good suggestions Craig. I added a few photos. Not sure why they are sideways tho! Lol.
Got that sideways issue fixt.
Nice, Scott!
Thanks Jeffry.
What a great idea putting your entire collection on display. Personally, I would love iM to be a good personal "display case" for everyone, not only in terms of posting new articles, but also holding one's entire collection together. Id' be curious about your experience along this archiving project, and if you find anything that we could improve at iM, please let me know.
Also, I've always admired people doing flats, it's like an art form in itself, and this one is no exception. Has some aura of a renaissance painting, with that single window, the perspective of the room, and the shadows. These painted shadows (the fireplace just pops out) look just great!
Thanks Martin. I will let you know if I have any suggestions.

Something like I'm doing.
Nice figures.
Thanks Ulf.
Effective painting re achieving perspective. The attention to highlights and lowlights in the uniforms is noteworthy.
Thanks Rob.
You're an artist sir!
I don't know if I'd go that far, but thanks for the compliment Robert.
