Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 REAF (1:48, AMG)

May 1, 2017 · in Aviation · · 16 · 3.5K

Here is my latest build, Sea Fury in Royal Egypt Air Force service. Honestly, this was mentioned as "build just for fun and display case".
Even if I wanted, this kit is not good enough for any competition. Too many mistakes in casting of parts, too many mistakes in manual and poor resources makes - this is what no modeller would like to see.
Sometime it was more fighting than building, but I tried to do my best and give this kit at least nice and attractive finish.

Well the final look is very nice and the aircraft looks awesome with 5 blades in display... I definitely want to buy and build Airfix Sea Fury as soon as they release him...
If there would be some NMF version, there comes the question - shall I buy only one kit? 🙂

  5. That NMF is awesome! It's really look good!

  6. Thank you so much! This is definitely not the last NMF, I am just in preparation for czech MiG 21 PFM from Zatec. This would be serious stuff with much more options to play with surface 🙂

  7. Wow - that is a stunning build, despite the complaints about the kit. The finish is fantastic - that's one of the best NMF finishes I've seen in a while. She's a beauty!

  8. I would enter it in any contest. The finish is fantastic. I really like the details in the main landing gear well too. It looks great ! I really like it. I think you won the battle...

  9. A great build!

  10. I agree with the guys this is a great job, I have a Spitfire in my gallery in the same markings (although in camo) and this would look great next to it,I can't wait for the new Airfix version to come out.

  12. Whatever you may have said about the quality of the kit this model looks really great, perfect nmf.

  13. Martin, despite your comments about difficulties, casting etc. you have done an absolutely superb job here. Your finish & weathering overrides any imperfections there might be in the kit (I can't see any anyway). Like you I can't wait to get my hands on the new Airfix kit (maybe two!).

  14. That looks like a winner to me Martin! i especially like the way the metal finish came out. It looks very realistic - great work!
