C-17 Globemaster II, 1/144 Revell + Flap down set
Like you can see through my profile picture, I like very much this big bird .
I watched it take off and famous short landing in airshow last year and this visual broke my stereotype thought of physics.
Kit is Revell’s 1/144 USAF version. and I added Wolfpack’s resin flap down set. it adds downed double flap and slats. it was my first experince with resin detail up parts but it has an total distortion and contraction. I tried with my best but assembly of wing is still bit dirty.
Colored overall with can spray and still I used ivory colored oil paint for total washing. I meant to apply a less weathered look because real aircraft is usually crystal clean (that’s huge mystery.. even it lands on the dirt runway with dust storm) but the result is bit went over my goal.
Thanks for watching!

Great model. Looks even better with the flaps lowered.

I always interested in the movement of flap when I boarding airliners. this time it’s not the exact position for landing or take-off but I satisfied its visual

You’ve managed to give this a brighter look than I usually see in other display examples. You’ve worked in a subtle array of grey tones and other variations that lift the model out of ‘big grey blob’ territory. Nice.

Yes, you really watched carefully Rob! I filtered whole model several times for this grey tone.
And the panel lines, they were clean but too deep and wide for this scale. I should paint them carefully with bright color to hide them.

Thanks Robert,
Here in S.Korea fortunately we had a 10 days of thanksgiving holidays this year. I could empty some of my shelf

Looks great !! I have one on the shelf as well as a set of Canadian markings (CanMilAir) I intend to get it started before the holidays (big laughs all round I’m sure).

You said before the holidays but you didn’t type the year! that’s clever Phil 😉

The third in the line of Globemasters, nicely done Hongseob.

I thought it was second in here?
Thanks Allan!

Excellent! I agree that it’s a tad “dirtier” than I’ve seen, but it isn’t necessarily out of place, and gives nice visual interest, especially for that scale. I’m with you – it really is amazing to watch this thing fly.
Hongseob CHOI said on October 30, 2017
Thanks Greg. Actually clearer than this will be bit boring I think. it’s also amazing to watch it stop so quickly after landing. with the engine reversed it even go backward on the runway!

They are spectacular aircraft as is you model, Hongseob! Well done.
Bravo!

I guess 1/144 is the best scale for this, and it looks great, your weathered finish sets off its lines really well.

That’s fantastic! I think it looks good with a bit of weathering!
