Tamiya Salamander
Made this little gem of a kit around 2 years ago, and still love to see it on my shelf, smaller than most other 1/48 but unique nonetheless. A mix of old war shades (81/82/84 on the fuselage) and early war shades (71 over 65 in the wings)
I used decals from a Kagero book and masks for the iron cross insignias. Hope you like it!
Is it my imagination or has the standard on this site taken a jump? Love this Salamander, it's a lovely build and I'd be really proud if I were you, Pedro!
Thank you David, I am proud of it indeed, the fact is the kit builds very well, so I focused on the painting and subtle weathering. It was fun as I recall
Pedro, Very well done !
This Tamiya He 162 kit is really nice and fun to build. Even though I've only built one, I would highly recommend it.
Thank you Terry, I agree with your statement
Pedro, nice to see one built. Nicely done!
Thank you Bernard, glad you like it
Very nice result, my friend...but, after all, it IS a Tamiya. 🙂
You nailed it Craig ? just can’t go wrong when the plastic is good right?
Beautiful!
Thank you Michel
Very nice work on this. Looks as real as the 1:1 out at Planes of Fame.
Thank you Tom, wish I could see in person the exhibit they have there!
Excellent work on this "Peoples Fighter". I especially like the landing gear and cockpit details...
Thank you Louis, the kit comes highly detailed, but I did add some small scratch details
You have managed 'subtle' brilliantly Pedro - it is something that is so difficult - but always effective - what a great build!
Thank you Paul, appreciate the feedback
Salamander is on my list of coolest flying machines! 😉 Your model is simply gorgeous, beautiful work! 🙂
Thank you Alexander! I also see the Salamander as one of the best looking early jets. A true must build for any wing enthusiast, well served in the quarter scale but also on the bigger scale.
Outstanding, Pedro! These are very interesting birds and yours is a shining example of what many of us (myself, especially) aspire to create. I too, noticed the wonderful detailing, especially the wheel wells.
Bravo!
Thank you Jeff, appreciate the feedback and the friendship request ?
Beautiful model! Nice subtle detailing and weathering, and love the "mixed" scheme you chose for it! Well done.
Thank you Greg, it is a unusual mix, even more in a jet
Like the others, I’d like to compliment the total build, but I especially like the detail in the wheel wells. Great job!
Fantastic work! Wonderful model and I like how you have applied the colors. Great details!
Very well done Pedro.
Thank you for the feedback, appreciate it a lot, keeps my enthusiasm high for the hobby
Very nice work.
Very nice work. This kit has been on my wish list since I saw the real plane at the Ottawa museum.
