Show Report – 2018 NSW Scale Model Show
Hi Everyone
Over the weekend just passed, the Illawarra Plastic Modeller's Association hosted the 2018 NSW Scale Model Show. The show is now in it's 18th year and the largest model show in New South Wales. Over 350 entries were received across 55 categories and best in show was the 1/35 Takom Tiger 2 with full interior on display, a worthy winner! The attached photos are a collection of category winners plus other models which I liked and there were plenty to like!
Happy Modelling
Darren
Very nice display. Strong armour categories.
Great photos and high level of modeling all-round. The Ventura and that RAF P-39 particularly caught my eye.
Great modeling. I like the A-4K a lot.
So many quality builds displayed...I dunno where to start with all the accolades. Thanks!
Those are some of the best models I have seen. World class that is for sure. One that sticks out is the fabulous cut-away king tiger. That was remarkable. And one of the best collections of P-51s. Just sweet. Motivates me to continue to challenge myself always searching for better techniques and methods and striving to do better even when u already feel accomplished as a model maker. Thats the fun of model making, can always grow and challenge your own levels.
Hi Paul
The P-51's were part of a special category "Airfix Cup". Each year we select a new Airfix kit and that is the model to be used in that category. This year it was the new P51D in 1/48, next year is the 1/48 Sea Fury. I wanted the 1/72 FGR1 Phantom myself...
I think I recognized a few of those P-47's on the table 😉
Some great looking stuff - I too really like the P-39, and that desert scheme Spit.
I put a "few" of my P-47's on the club display table to brighten it up a bit!
This cornered Tiger I dio was nice, other than that I really liked the Panther! Thanks so much for posting!
Fantastic models on display. I didn't see much of 1/72nd scale aircraft. Do you have any more photos?
Cheers
I can post a few more photos on the weekend. 1/72 aircraft is not overly popular at our show, mainly 1/48 is no.1 for entries.
Thanks for sharing the great photos, Darren!
