F-4E, Hellenic AF , Hasegawa 1/72
Utilizing the unused Greek decals from the Buckeye kit and Hasegawa’s early F-4E (which the still produce), I did a Greek Phantom in the blue scheme of the late eighties. The kit is the older molds but with the leading edge slats and the TIESO option, I’ve done the kit way back when and it seems like they eliminated some things under the wings, To the spares box! The Phantoms had six position roundels, The T-2 sheet had four, so I modified two British ones, and placed them on the bottom wings, less obvious. Another Phantom, can you stand it? One photo is of the instruction sheets of the same kit over the years.

Nice Robert! I’ve got a Greek Phantom teed up on my On-Deck bench, to do in Aegean Ghost scheme. I’m actually considering doing one of Louis’ “Iron Works” builds with 3 or 4 Phantoms – a Greek, an IDF, a Japanese Kai, and perhaps an Brit. (or maybe another take on my dad’s Cam Ranh Bay C.

Hey Robert !!!
I have to echo what Tom B said. I have never seen a Phantom in these colors before either. One can never have too many of them ……… 🙂
Looks good and I especially like the accessories you posted in the photos too. That’s a cool lighter and unit patch !!!! The little character figure reminds me of the “Mad” comics character from “Spy vs. Spy”. That’s really cool !!!!
I actually like building the kits up using the older kit instructions if I have them available.

Thanks, Hasegawa certainly got their moneys worth out of the molds, although I did have add the antenna at the rear top of the tail.

Hello Robert,
What a nice color scheme on this F-4E. I think all their F-4″s are phased out.
What a shame. Regards, Dirk / The Netherlands.
