JASDF F-2A ‘8SQ Black Panthers’
Hi, My name is Hyeon-Jung “HJ” Yun, from South Korea. I’m focusing on modern jet fighters in 1/72 scale and willing to hear many comments and critics from other modelers.
This is my 1st post on iModeler. Used Hasegawa 1/72 kit(E15) and DMX decal, as well as Wolfpack Design’s F-2A/B Update set (partially). Cockpit is detailed-up with Beaver Coporation’s color etch brass.

This is lovely, HJ, a gorgeously executed paint scheme.

Thank you for kind words. Cool paint scheme is made not by me, but by JASDF. I’ve just followed their pattern with my old airbrush and dull fingers 🙂

Sometimes, just one word is everything that welcomes a newcomer. Thanks.

Hyeon-Jung Yun,
The build is a box top model. Something that Hasegawa could easily put on their boxes and be proud to display for the modeling public. As David wrote “gorgeous”.
Looking forward to seeing more of your gifts and talents in modeling,

For my 18 years modeling experience, I’ve always been searching for a place where I feel comfortable to share my humble works with other modelers. iModeler is such a good site for that reason. Easy, wide-open, and interactive. I’ll keep posting further works. Thanks.

Welcome to Imodeler, and sharing an excellent JASDF F-2A, seldom seen anywhere and even more remarkable the quality in detail 72nd scale. Hope that you will share more of your talents. And more JASDF hardware. They do have some excellent unique paint schemes on their current aircraft in service. Quite refreshing from the different shades of grey.

When JASDF oceanic paint scheme came out first, I was so fascinated with its cool color tone. As a long-time fan of modern jet powers of US Navy, I’ll keep building planes sometimes that are not grey.

Thank you for kind words. Hasegawa kit was so nice, so my F-2A owes 9 of 10 to it.

Frankly speaking, I’m a great fan of F/A-18C/D Legacy Hornets. I wish I would post a Hornet build next time. Thanks.

Love it! I have this same kit, and plan to build in time for my club’s 2020 contest (as the theme is “Japan.” I’ll use your photos as reference material! Great paint and detail work.
